Nonfango Integral Luggageby Jody Levine and Louis-Charles Lavall?eThis page shows our installation of a Nonfango luggage kit from MPS in the UK. These are the Integral bags, which are the old style ones that are being discontinued. We originally had the top case kit, which included one box, the luggage rack and TDM-specific hardware. The hardware consists of two rails that attach to the eye-loops behind the passenger footpegs and to a hanger bracket that's attached to the grab handle bolts under the seat. We added the pannier boxes later. This meant more hardware and relocating of the turn signals. The pannier hardware consists of two U-shaped brackets to which the bags attach, and some extra bits to attach those to the existing pieces. In order to save the 35 pounds sterling for the Nonfango turn signals, we mounted the stock turn signals under the luggage rack with angle braces (painted black) available at any hardware store. The wires were lengthened appropriately, reconnected with solder with the joints shrink wrapped, and the wires on both sides were run in a black plastic tube that's almost invisible. Other than moving the turn signals, no modification of the bike ware required. The installation was smooth but there were some quirks. The front bungee hooks had to be turned in, some extra washers were necessary on the grab handle bolts, the pannier rail mounting holes needed some filing, and some bits of bicycle inner-tube were put in appropriate places to mitigate rubbing of the mounting hardware on the rear bungee hooks and the grab handle.
