What may be difficult to see from the pictures is the method of attachment. The stand is attached by two plates (one on each side) that fit between the footrest brackets and the frame, and are held in place by the original footrest bracket bolts. Pretty simple installation, though mine required a little fiddling with the holes because of less than perfect alignment.

Jody adds: I had to spend some time filing down blobs of weld so that the stand would retract enough to allow for moderate cornering. Even fully retracted, it touches down under hard cornering. I also find it quite difficult to lever the bike up onto the stand.
